Client Spotlight: Hot Rides Auto Body

Joey Ruiz got his start in business with his brothers Ziggy and Robbie Ruiz, who are second-generation owners of Ruiz Landscaping. But he stepped out of the family business in 2005 when he had the opportunity to start Hot Rides Auto Body in Northbrook.

In the past 14 years, Joey has built a solid business with such a strong reputation that the majority of their customers come from word of mouth. The body shop also works with a number of local dealers, reconditioning and detailing their pre-owned and lease-return vehicles.

Since the business opened, Glenbrook Auto Parts has been a key supplier for Hot Rides, particularly for electrical and mechanical parts. “Every time we call over there, they’re good at getting us the aftermarket parts we need,” Joey says. “They’ll go the extra mile for us, too. If we need a part and they’re closing, they’ll put it out for us. Then we’ll run over and grab it at 7:30 or 8 at night when we’re still working.

“They go above and beyond what a regular auto parts store would do. We think it’s because of the relationship we have with them and the fact that they respect what we’re doing.”
